"For me, this trip was not only perfect, but probably the best photo experience I have ever had. The pace of the trip was perfect. I enjoyed the opportunity to take fantastic images that I could not have done on my own. The frequent unplanned stops that yielded wonderful surprises, and the small towns along the way that were a joy to see. This was the perfect photographic workshop and due to Jim’s efforts, anyone who did not get super images has only themselves to blame. I try to go on a lot of these trips, and this tour was so far ahead of anything I have experienced before that there is no second place; As good as I have ever experienced. The planning and execution were flawless, and each day seemed to be better that the previous one. The trip was so exceptional that I'm afraid any other leader will come out second rate. The trip was a great value, I would recommend it to anyone.” -Aaron T.
"Karl - there are not enough superlatives to describe him! As well as being an outstanding photographer and always willing to listen and pass on his knowledge, he was caring, patient and organized. The local guides were very good and attentive. Overall I enjoyed the workshop and as mentioned earlier I thank you and the team for introducing me to the idea of telling photo stories. As a consequence my interest in photography has been rekindled". Darrell M.
“It was a great trip, with no disappointments, and our group leader was wonderful. He was well prepared, patient and has a good sense of humor. He was very easy to travel with, I feel like I'm traveling with a friend. The individual attention is so valuable...I learned several things this time that helped me to get better photos. I really liked the opportunity to interact with and photograph the locals. Jim’s many relationships with locals is what makes the trips special and will keep me coming back again and again. No suggestions for improvement; Jim did a great job.” -Terri H.
“I have nothing but praise for the way the entire trip was organized and Karl was wonderful and our local guide, was also truly excellent. Thank you for a job well done and I hope to be on another tour with you soon. Our group was also a very nice group. All the pre-trip information was excellent; you prepared us well for the trip. All the hotels were excellent - nice and clean and great service. I have no complaints at all. Thanks again for the teaching and the opportunity...Keep up the good work. Well done!” -Sheila G.
“I have to say that I had the time of my life on the trip! It has been my dream to see the whales and with Jim I got to actually touch these huge mammals right next to the boat and take incredible photographs of them. I have traveled to 52 foreign countries and this trip is at the top of my list. I highly recommend Jim's tours and can't wait to go on the next one. He is a true professional!" -Jonathan Colby, La Jolla, CA Baja Gray Whales tour participant
“Overall, I think the trip was quite near fantastic and that it’s a good trip for photographing local color and landscapes. I got some really good pictures. We [had so much fun] on the Copper Canyon tour! Ralph was a great leader and got us to a lot of interesting places. The train ride was relaxing and shooting out the backs of the cars gave us many opportunities to capture the small stations along the route. The Tarahumara people are especially colorful to photograph. I hope that next year that the tour participants will have as great of time as we did. I'd like to do this again in the near future.” -Ed F.
“Everything from pre-trip preparation to dinner each night was very satisfactory. I absolutely received good value for the cost of the trip and [there was] just the right number of people, good accommodations, food, etc. It was a great trip – and I’ll definitely sign up for more. I think the photo discussions prior to photo shoots were useful and Jim did a great job – very responsive and helpful. Thanks for creating a great opportunity.” -Sharon G.
“I have many favorite parts of this trip, including the opportunity to photograph this beautiful country accompanied by other skilled photographers who could help me improve my photography. I loved re-visiting Guatemala...and was impressed with Jim's preparation in finding local Indian guides/models/families that enhanced our experience and our ability to meet with the local Indian population. Managing our group also requires skills as "herding cats" and Jim does very well in that regard and in looking after us. Also, the local guides were all courteous and helpful. The photo opportunities were abundant: Overall, this trip was a 9.5 (out of a 10). I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in photography and looking for a beautiful country and people to take photos. There are few better places than Guatemala. Keep up the good work.” -Herb H.
“This trip was nothing less than extraordinary and memorable. Karl sure made everyone feel comfortable all along. Everything was obviously well planned and well thought out. This trip brought my photography to another level and....we got so many nice shots. Within a week back we had already decided that we are going for another trip with Jim Cline Photo Tours and decided which one.” -Michel S.
“I thought the trip was fantastic and I'm so glad I went...it was worth every penny. I felt like a VIP during many times on the trip. My favorite part of the trip was witnessing the Mexican people. Thanks to Jim and others I learned a lot [about photography] and plan to use what I learned in the future. There were some many wonderful photo opportunities everywhere so I was never lacking for subjects. I took some good photos which I'm pleased with. I enjoyed the photo discussions and lectures and it was great being prepped before the actual shoot. I think they are an important part of any photo workshop. I would recommend every trip that Jim leads, he is truly a professional and a great leader who went above and beyond what is expected. Jim was highly attentive to my needs, I can't think of anything more he could have done. Thanks for an outstanding trip! I enjoyed it so much that I am planning to return in 2015.” -Phyllis H.
What a fantastic trip! I couldn’t have asked for more personally, photographically, culturally or any otherwise. What a stellar group we had: everyone was cheerful, punctual, fun and not a whine was heard. Finally, major kudos to both Karl and Dat for making the trip so special. -Ellen C.
